Writing
I have been writing stories and poetry since I first learned my ABC’s. I was born in a Maryland suburb of Washington, DC. We don’t need to mention when that was, but suffice it to say that I am one of the many baby boomers of post WWII. My humorous style of writing was greatly influenced early in my life by Judith Viorst and Erma Bombeck. I also had a fascination with the works of Edgar Allen Poe.
One of my fondest childhood memories was waiting for the bi-monthly bookmobile from the local library. I was such a nerd.
Lately, poetry and flash fiction have become my favorite forms of expression; however I am also currently working on the development of a series of children’s picture books and a family memoir.
I was honored to have one of my poems selected for the 26th annual Frederick Community College Magazine of Creative Arts. I worked at FCC for over twelve years before taking early retirement to follow my dream of writing, full-time.
I have enjoyed participating in several local writing groups and workshops, as well as, many creative writing classes at FCC via the Frederick Community College Writers Institute. I am currently a member of the Frederick County chapter of the Maryland Writers Institute and I am a contributing writer & reviewer at fanstory.com.
A graduate of FCC with an Associate of Arts degree and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, I currently reside in Frederick, MD with my husband and two cats.
I am continuing my life’s journey through meditation, the study of Feng Shui and expanding my spirituality through writing, artwork, dollhouse miniatures, jewelry design and any other crafting projects that strike my creative fancy.
